Chanel Cruise Collection 2015: The Backstage
Huge gravity-defying hair and luxurious smoky eyes took the center stage at yesterday’s Chanel Cruise Collection. If you expected something great be ready to redefine your greatness concept: Lagerfeld’s beauty look for next season is nothing but glorious.
The make-up, created by Tom Pecheux, was defined by a new take on the feline flick, the same divergent eyeliner seen at Dior’s last week. But what we saw here was totally different from the Dior’s minimalism and it was, indeed, a smoked-out version of the new inky-black trend.
The two powerful parallel lines were drawn with both Le Crayon Khol and l’Ecriture de Chanel (both in Noir), and were then softened with Les 4 Ombres "Rêve d'Orient”- a deep gray eyeshadow created exclusively for the Dubai Collection - mixed with the shimmering l’Illusion D’ombre in Mirifique and Convoitise. To complete and enhance the gaze tiny pieces of gold leaf were applied on the inner corners of the eyes and faux lashes were used both on top and bottom.
Complexion was evened out with the new Perfection Lumière Velvet and cheeks were sculpted with the blush Camelia de Plumes – a limited edition for next Christmas. At last the rose-tinted gloss Levres Scintillantes in "Rose Rêvé" (on the shelves from next season) lightened the intensity of the eyes.
In order to add more drama to the look, Sam McKnight coiffed the model’s tresses with two wild and wonderful super sized hairstyles, each one completed with a signature hair accessory. The first look, sported by a pink-haired Charlotte Free as she opened the show, was a straight backcombed bouffant that introduced gloriously the other look, a cloud of tousled curls.
To create this one Sam McKnight in collaboration with ghd prepped the hair with hair spray, wrapped small sections of hair around a curling iron and clipped up each curl for as long as possible. Then, after freeing the curls, he sprayed the roots with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray and backcombed them for extra volume. Finally, he gently brushed the curls with a Mason Pearson (a must-have I’ll review soon).

Capelli che sconfiggono la gravità fra ricci e volume e smoky eyes lussuosi con tanto di foglie d’oro sono stati i protagonisti della Cruise Collection di Chanel che ha sfilato ieri a Dubai. Se vi aspettavate qualcosa di grandioso, rimarrete sorprese. Karl Lagerfeld, infatti, ha un’altra volta ridefinito il concetto di bellezza portandolo a un nuovo livello di magnificenza.
Il trucco, firmato Tom Pecheux, ha fatto degli occhi il centro dell’attenzione e, oltre a piccole foglie d’oro posizionate strategicamente nell’angolo interno dell’occhio, ciò che ha reso lo sguardo delle modelle tanto fatale è stato l’eyeliner divergente. Tendenza nuova di pacca e vista per la prima volta settimana scorsa sulla passerella di Brooklyn di Dior, è caratterizzata da un doppio feline flick che, a Dubai, è stato reinterpretato da Pecheux in modo più orientale, ridefinendo il khol in uno smoky eye vellutato. A creare il tratto grafico ci hanno pensato le punte nere de Le Crayon Khol e de l’Ecriture de Chanel, mentre per le sfumature è entrata in gioco la palette Les 4 Ombres "Rêve d'Orient”, una limited edition creata per l’occasione che, mischiata con l’Illusion D’ombre in Mirifique e Convoitise ha dato vita a una palpebra di un grigio fumo profondo.
Le carnagioni non potevano essere più perfette e il merito va al neonato Perfection Lumière Velvet (un prodotto di cui non posso più fare a meno). A scolpire gli zigomi ci ha poi pensato il blush Camelia de Plumes, un’altra limited edition in vendita per il prossimo Natale. Infine le labbra, per alleggerire il tutto, hanno ricevuto solo il tocco rosato del gloss Levres Scintillantes in "Rose Rêvé" (sugli scaffali dal prossimo autunno).
Ai capelli ci ha poi pensato Sam McKnight che ha creato due hairstyle selvaggi e vaporosi completati ciascuno da accessori da mille e una notte. Il primo look, portato in passerella da Charlotte Free, era un liscio vaporoso caratterizzato da una cotonatura esagerata. Il secondo invece è quello che ha fatto scalpore: una nuvola di ricci anti-gravità. Per creare cotanto volume McKnight ha arrotolato piccole ciocche intorno a una piastra ghd e ha poi fissato ogni riccio con una forcina per il maggior tempo possibile. Per dare vita a un volume extra, ha poi liberato i ricci, vaporizzato le radici con il Dry Texturizing Spray di Oribe e cotonato leggermente dove necessario. Infine ha pettinato riccio per ricco con la rinomata spazzola di Mason Pearson (un must-have che recensirò presto).
