Chanel Haute Couture: Marie Antoinette goes punk

“È come una scultura moderna, realizzata in materiali contemporanei ma con elementi barocchi.” Così, Karl Lagerfeld ha presentato la sua collezione di Haute Couture per la stagione a venire. “È la storia di Le Corbusier che va a Versailles”. Non ha sorpreso, dunque, vedere un beauty look basato su contrasti di forme e texture che, pur giocando con riferimenti anni Ottanta, non ha lasciato a bocca asciutta le Marie Antoniette contemporanee.
A capo dell’hairstyle, ovviamente, c’era Sam McKnight che, anche questa stagione, non ha deluso le aspettative. Partendo da uno schizzo dei cappelli che Kaiser Karl avrebbe portato in passerella, McKnight ha realizzato 50 parrucche di capelli veri per creare delle creste pungenti a metà fra il punk e lo stile boyband. Per realizzarle si è sbizzarrito e, oltre a lavare i posticci con il sapone per i piatti - che a quanto pare dona una texture malleabile anche alle fibre più morte - ha usato un mix di prodotti inimmaginabile. A partire dal L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Pli Thermo-Fixing Spray con cui ha dato il volume "pungente" fino al connubio di Bumble & Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish spray e Batiste Dry Shampoo che ha conferito texture e tenuta. A supporto i magici phon ghd Air.
Il giorno della sfilata, dopo aver raccolto i capelli delle modelle in chignon piatti, ha puntato le creste e le ha modellate e fissate con una spruzzata di Sebastian Re-Shaper Hairspray. La piastra Eclipse styler di ghd ha messo in riga i ciuffi ribelli e poi il tutto è stato completato i cappelli baseball-style disegnati da Lagerlfeld. Il look finale è stato, neanche a dirlo, notevole.
Per quanto riguarda il makeup, il focus era su un occhio bicolor metallizzato movimentato da una virgola nera.
Per realizzarlo sono stati usati gli ombretti Illusion D’Ombre in Fantasme e Vision che hanno sottolineato la rima ciliare superiore partendo dall’angolo interno dell’occhio mentre, la Ligne Graphique De Chanel in Noir-Noir ha definito il flick esterno. Il resto del make-up è stato tenuto sul neutro a partire dalla pelle opaca - ottenuta grazie al Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth Effect Makeup SPF 15 - fino all’healthy glow dato dal Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder SPF 15 e dal Joues Contraste in Caresse della Christmas Collection 2014.
Le sopracciglia non potevano che essere bold grazie al Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow, mentre labbra e unghie hanno sfoggiato delle new entries che saranno sugli scaffali da questo autunno: Rouge Allure in Volage (2014 Christmas Collection) e Le Vernis in Atmosphère (2014 Fall Collection).

“It’s like modern sculpture, in modern materials, but with baroque elements,” Lagerfeld said backstage after his Fall 2014 Couture Show. “This is the story of Le Corbusier going to Versailles.” Consequently, it was no wonder to see a beauty look which showed off some ’80s boybands references yet made sure to also please Marie Antoinette.
In fact, makeup and hair were all about a play on texture and shape featuring spiky hairdos and multi-toned metallic eyes.
Hair was inspired by a Karl Lagerfeld’s sketch of the boyish hats that were featured in the show and the result were new wave, spiky quiffs crafted personally by hair guru Sam McKnight. To create them, a few days before the show, he cut 50 real-hair pieces and washed these natural hair in dishwasher liquid to strip them back to a malleable texture. Then, not only he applied a coat of L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Pli Thermo-Fixing Spray to the hairpieces before blowing them dry with a ghd Hair Dryer but added as well a final blast of both Bumble & Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish spray and Batiste Dry Shampoo to get the perfect texture and hold. Eventually, the day of the show, McKnight slicked the models' own hair back into a flat chignon - after straightenig them out with a stroke of ghd Eclipse styler - and pinned the hairpieces at the top of the head. To finish the look he back-combed, twisted, teased and gently set the dry hair with a fine mist of Sebastian Re-Shaper Hairspray and pinned Lagerfeld's boyish caps over the chignon. The illusion of the short cut and the overall look were impressive.
As for the makeup, the focus was a multi-toned metallic eye, extended with a cat-like flick. Metallic eyeshadows - Illusion D’Ombre in “Fantasme” and “Vision” - lined the upper lash line and a slight flick of black liner - Ligne Graphique De Chanel in Noir-Noir - underlined the outer corner. The rest of the makeup was kept pared down, with matte skin (Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth Effect Makeup SPF 15), a healthy glow (Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder SPF 15 and Joues Contraste in Caresse from the 2014 Christmas Collection) and bold brows (Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow).
Lips and nails showed off some new entries like the forthcoming Rouge Allure in Volage (2014 Christmas Collection) and Le Vernis in Atmosphère (2014 Fall Collection).
